You may NOT use the following characters in a file name: \ / : * ? " < > | # { } % ~ &. Also, a file name cannot end with a period.
The maximum length for the path to your file must be less than 260 characters (for example: c:\documents\my document\another folder\larrys files\myfile.txt is 63 characters long - every character - including spaces - counts). The file name itself must be less than 128 characters (if you have a file name that long, we need to talk!). If you have questions about path and/or file name lengths, please speak with your building technology leader or a member of the Central Office technology team.
