Post subject:  How to share a document or folder

You may share documents or folders with people inside our network (even students!). You may share the document read only, or you may allow the recipient(s) to edit the document. Multiple people can be editing the same document at once. You may also allow some people read only access while some are allowed to edit. Simply follow this same procedure and select the editing capabilities of the user/group next to their name on the final screen.

The process to share a folder is the same as what is shown below.

Login to your account.

Access SkyDrive from the command bar:

Find the document/folder you wish to share and click the ellipsis next to the name:

Click Share (you can also see who this document is shared with from this screen):

In the box that appears, begin entering the email address of the person or group with whom you wish to share the document or folder. Their name(s) should appear below the top box. When their name appears, click the name and it will add it to the box (you may add as many people or groups as needed):

In the bottom box you may (optionally) enter a message to the recipients to let them know why you are sharing this document or folder with them. When you are finished, click Share:

The recipient(s) will receive an email containing a link to the file/folder. They simply click the link to find the document.
