  • Tour wrist shows points of interest within the world. Really cool to show students landmarks around the world. Jana is studying Rome in her class and she was able to show the students landmarks that most have never seen before.

  • Lentacle check out books. Borrow or lend items. If a student borrows a book from class, they check it out on the iPad. Jana has found they are more likely to check it out this way then writing something down on a piece of paper.

  • Inigma QR code reader. At the beginning of the year, the GMS team made their own QR codes and then the codes were placed on an index card for the student to take home to their parents. The code takes the parent directly to the teachers home page. QR stuff is the website used to make your QR code.

  • Pass Keeper password keeper. All user id's and passwords can be kept in a secure location. Password is required to open the application every time.

  • Keynote - Paid app - Presentation maker similar to PowerPoint but much more flashy. The students love the pizzazz!. Files can be saved in iCloud and then copied to your network drive. Jana loves this app!

  • Prezi Another presentation maker that most have seen. Similar to KeyNote but not quite as savvy and doesn't hold as many documents.

  • Screen Chomp A great way to make a presentation to the class. You can write with the iPad screen. You can record session. You can do a lesson and record, save to your home page for kids to review at night if they forgot something or what to show their parents the cool presentation Mrs. Wills did that day!

  • ShowMe You can search for other teachers lessons and use in your own classroom. You can interact with the kids while they are watching the video; walk around and pause if necessary to answer questions.

  • Apps Gone Free This is an app that shows what has gone free for the day. It will tell you how many are free for the day

  • Remind 101 a safe way to message parents. Parents receive the message. You sign up for the teachers message. Jana sends home the link at the beginning of the year for her students parents to sign up for this service. It's free and it allows Jana to communicate with the parents without using her own personal phone. Out of 130 students, I believe 74 are using this application. One quick note, she is able to send reminders out at time intervals. To prepare kids for a quiz the next day; she set up 4 messages that went out every 30 minutes. What a great way to prepare your students for the quiz! And it looked like she was working way late into the night!
