and Four apps for Common Core:
- Scootpad – Common Core
Scootpad is an app with a great selection of standards-based practice for elementary classes. It’s a pretty complicated app that tries to be a learning management system. The important aspect of the app to us, though, is the variety of Math and Reading practice problems, all aligned to the Common Core. You could go through a whole year’s classes assigning this app for homework.
- Math !!!
Math Pentagon’s Math !!! may not have the greatest name or the smoothest interface, but what it has is an in-depth selection of practice problems for all the Common Core Math subject areas for Grades 4 through 8. The app lets students use an iPad as scratch paper while working out problems and grades them as they go.
- Math Pro!!!
Math Pro!!! sounds like it should be the paid version of Math !!!, but it’s actually just the high school version. It’s still a great resource for math problems, broken up by the content areas in the Common Core. iTooch Elementary
- iTooch Elementary School app lets you download whole classes of fun practice tailored to the Common Core Standards. You can build a library of questions for any given elementary class with a fun, high-quality interface. Students can compete to reach leader boards for success and share achievements with friends. We can’t recommend this app strongly enough.
