To configure Outlook on your desktop or tablet to work with our new mail server perform the steps below.

Exit Outlook. You cannot perform these steps if Outlook is running.

The first two steps will look slightly different on computers running XP. You will follow the same steps. The only difference is how it looks.

Select Start, Control Panel (on XP select Start, Settings, Control Panel). You may also run control. To run a command select Start Run (on Vista you may just type control into the box above the orb which reads Start Search. You may also hold down the Windows key {the key between ctrl and alt in the lower left-hand corner of most keyboards. See the image below to identify the Windows key.}) and press the r key. A dialog box will open. Type control and press the enter key (or select OK). A picture is below the Windows key picture.

Change User Name to your login name (jonesl). Do NOT enter "gw\" before your log in name.

If you are configuring a machine which will ONLY be used INSIDE our network, select "Check Name." If the login name changes to your name underlined, you may close all windows and run Outlook - you have completed the configuration process. If it does not, please contact your building technology leader.

Do NOT press "Check Name"

Select "More Settings . . ."

Select the Connection tab

You should clear the check box (by clicking) next to "Only connect to proxy servers that have this principal name in their certificate:"

Make sure there is a check next to "On fast networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP"

Make sure "Use this authentication when connecting to my proxy server for Exchange" is set to "Basic Authentication."

Select OK.

Select OK.

Now you may select "Check Name"

You may close all windows and run Outlook.

Awesome! It's nice to have the same email client at home.
