Homework Drop Boxes:  New in Gaggle:  A place where students can securely hand in assignments without the excuse of "my email didn't work."  Instructional video.

For the Teacher:  Log on as usual.  Go to Jump To and click on Velocity.  This is just a different platform for viewing everything in Gaggle.

In the Velocity platform, you can select Make This My Default in the upper left-hand corner if you want your Gaggle account to automatically open to this each time.  You can easily switch back.   The Velocity platform also allows users to organize their digital locker by making folders within the lock to submit their work.

To see what's in your drop box, click on Jump To, Homework Drop Boxes.

To make a new drop box or add an assignment, click on Jump To, School Admin, Edit Homework Drop Boxes.

To create or add a drop box, click on Add, then complete the information in the form.  You are the only teacher who can see the boxes you create.  If students are working on a group project, select Students Can See Other's Assignments.  If you want an email sent whenever a student submits an assignment, click on the Notify box.  Access:  District means anyone with a Gaggle account in GCSchools may see the assignment.  School, just GHS.  Class, all students with a certain administrator (doubt if this would ever be used). Specified Users, you choose who can see the assignment.   Then click Save.

If you chose Specified Users, select which students get to use this drop box by clicking on Add Members.

You can select the students individually, but if you've already set up a class group, click on View ALL Users, User Groups, and click on your class.

Select the students you want, and click Add Selected Users.

To make an assignment, click on Homework Drop Boxes, click on the drop box you want and then New Assignment Folder.

Type in your directions, attach any handouts, and click Submit.

Now for the students:  Have students log on as usual.  They may get a message asking them for an outside email address and if they want a message to go to their outside email, which notifies them of messages in Gaggle.  They can fill this out or Skip.

Then students should click on Velocity.  This is just a different platform for viewing everything in Gaggle.  (Teachers would do the same thing.)

In the Velocity platform, students can select Make This My Default in the upper left-hand corner if they their Gaggle account to automatically open to this each time.  They can easily switch back.

To see what's in their drop box, they need to click on Jump To, Homework Drop Boxes.

The students click on the appropriate Homework Drop Box and Submit Assignment.

Additionally, students (and teachers) have training videos they can watch by going to Jump To, Training Videos.  I recommend Web Hosting Tools for Students.  It takes them through everything, including Homework Drop Boxes.
