Edit and correct your rough draft.  Look and revise for ONE thing at a time.

˙    Transitions – used in the first sentence of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, paragraph and throughout your paper.

˙    Intro. Paragraph has author’s name, title of play underlined, and brief synopsis.

˙    Last sentence of intro. Paragraph is your THESIS.

˙    FANBOYS  - for and nor but or yet so   If you have a list of three or more, you need a comma before the fanboys.  A complete sentence on each side of the fanboys, you need a comma.  Fanboys can’t start a sentence.

˙    6 or more quotations evenly distributed in essay

˙    No stand alone quotes (quotes all by themselves).  All quotes are combined in a sentence with your words.

˙    All quotes have the page number in ( ) after the quotation mark.  If the quote also ends your sentence, the end mark goes AFTER the ( ).  You have not written (p. 44) or (page 44).

˙    Am, is, are, was, were, be, being, been – Count up the total and get rid of 2/3.  TRY!!!

˙    Vivid Vocabulary – you should have at least one word is each sentence that it specific.

˙    Try not to use YOU, YOUR, YOU’RE, YOU’LL.  GO easy on I, ME, MY.

˙    Make sure you have five ( the magic number) paragraphs, your name on the paper, a title that gets the reader’s attention.

˙    MUST DO- In your final copy, underline and label one of each: appositive, gerund, infinitive, participle, prepositional phrase
