Shakespeare Groups
Each group will be assigned an act
and must complete the following assignments:
1.
List
the major characters in your act.
List
the identifying personality characteristics of each
Provide
a character analysis on one of your characters in the form of a letter of
recommendation for a job befitting that character.
2.
Select 15 lines or more from the act.
Write
them down and identify any figurative devices by underlining and labeling.
Then
translate the lines using a specific jargon or slang making sure to keep the
meaning.
3.
Explain one of the major conflicts in the act.
Explain
at least two alternative solutions.
Write
a persuasive letter to the character that would be most capable of implementing
your solutions.
4.
Make a brief presentation of one of the major
events in the act making sure we can clearly understand what is happening.
Your
event will be in a different genre. For
instance, your event could be written as if it’s a sci-fi, a western, an
opera, a song, an infomercial, a public service announcement, trailer, etc.
You’ll
need to turn in a hardcopy.
5.
Vocabulary – Illustrate five words from your AP list to hang on the
wall. Then find an example from your
act for four of them. Write the word
and the example. Explain if
necessary. First come, first serve for the
words.
6.
Create a practice test consisting of 10 multiple choice questions.
These questions should not be “What” questions.
Provide answer choices and a separate key.
All
work for your act must be labeled with an assignment title and the names of all
students who worked on the assignment. All
group members are responsible for the high standards of their work.
This is a group project with individual grades.
If a member only does a little work, that member will get a little grade.
The work will be place d in a folder that I will provide for you.
To
work on this at home, save in your digital locker as PUBLIC file.
That way all group members can access it.
Resave, upload, and email
your group members about changes. It
would be a good idea to email them an attached copy of the file also.
