Celebrations at the Center for Technology

Pat Carpenter, teacher of Early Childhood Education Careers and Lori Grabner, instructor of Health Science and Technology were granted $1,000.00 given by the Greeneville City Schools Foundation in recognition of American Education Week November 16-22, 2003.  This will fund the projects that reach beyond the scope of the school system's regular operating funds.  The focus of this grant will provide instructions about how to deal with emergencies such as someone suffering a heart attack, severe bleeding, or choking, as well as other emergencies.  The #1 killer of U.S. citizens is heart disease and the #3 killer is injuries.
The money granted will be used to provide the first aid

instruction manuals and first aid kits that will be used to teach the high school students.  Lori Grabner will certify them in first aid through the American Heart Association.  The high school students of Health Science and Technology and Early Childhood Education Careers will design and implement the program to be presented to the 3rd graders of Highland and Hal Henard Elementary schools.  The ultimate goal is to touch every elementary city school and extend the program into elementary schools in Greene County.

Place winning booth at the Appalachian Fair in Gray.  Nominated by Judy Carpenter, Lane and the staff and students at the Center for Technology have won this honor three of the last four years.  Lane was quick to add that this is a whole-school effort, students, staff, and administration.  Mike's leadership and generous attitude are daily models of "only the best"!
