Text Box: Corlette Murphy and Savannah Norton have been friends since first grade.  They are currently juniors at Chuckey-Doak High School and are both attending the Health Science and Technology class at the Center for Technology.  Corlette wants to become a plastic surgeon and Savannah wants to pursue a career in physical therapy.  Both girls are active in soccer at CD and Corlette is also on the tennis team.  When faced with the decision to be away from their home high school for half of their school day, they decided to attend the Center during the same school term so they could be together.  Both girls are Text Box: learning that the Center is an extension of the home high school.  Students are dismissed to return to the home high school anytime the home school principal asks that









 students be allowed to attend activities there.  This includes pep rallies, homecoming activities, class meetings, and Text Box: any athletic related activities.  Sometimes it’s hard to keep up with the scheduled activities at five different high schools, but we want the students who attend the Center to feel they are part of both our school and their home high school.  And, sometimes it’s nice when two friends who share a lot of common activities and interests can manage to arrange their schedules so they can stick together.

Text Box: Before lighting any fire, remove decorations from the fireplace. Check to see the flue is open.
Keep a screen before the fireplace.
Use care with “fire salts” which produce colored flames when thrown on wood fires. They contain heavy metals which can cause intense Text Box: gastrointestinal irritation or vomiting if eaten.

Always use
      non-flammable 
      holders.
Keep candles away
      from other decorations
      and wrapping paper. 
Place candles where they can’t be knocked down or blown over.
