Attendance Policies and Guidelines

Studies show that students with good school attendance become employees with good work attendance. Our policies reflect that concept and students are expected to attend class daily.

Students may not miss more than two days per six weeks, or seven days in one semester. All additional days missed must be made up time for time in order to obtain a passing grade.

Time missed must be made up during the 6 weeks in which it was missed, except when given an extension due to absences at the end of the 6 weeks.

All time for time must be made up at the CFT from 3:30p.m. - 6:30p.m. on Tuesday and/or Thursday.

All absences should be made up, however, students unable to make up time due to unusual circumstances may appeal for a waiver or extension.

Appeal Guidelines

  • The student must appeal within 1 weeks of the date or dates they wish to appeal.

  • Appeal forms must be turned in to the teacher fully completed with parent signature.

  • Late or incomplete forms will not be considered. No Exceptions!!

Students may be granted up to three days absence for a death in the family., Additional days, if appealed, will be considered on an individual basis.

Students may appeal hospitalizations which will be considered on an individual basis.

Absences with a doctor's excuse are waived for the time but all work must be made up. Days missed due to military exams and intake procedures will not be waived by the attendance committee.

Extensions will be given only when adequate time is not available for make-up and NOT if time for time was available between the absence and the end of the 6 weeks.

Appeal decisions considered unsatisfactory by student or parent may be appealed to the school administration.
