Educational
services are provided to each student who participates in the program.
Individual assessments, creative play, introduction to words and numbers,
social skills, socialization, field trips and age appropriate child activities
are provided daily and throughout the school year.
Through
this partnership we are able to provide many social services. We are able
to assist families in need, and provide resources and referrals to appropriate
agencies.
Parent
involvement is a large component of the Preschool Program. Parents are
encouraged to take part in our monthly parent meetings and workshops. As
well as, participating in their child’s education by volunteering in the
classroom on a regular basis. A lending library has been established in
each classroom for parents and children to utilize at home.
Through
a grant from the Tennessee Department of Education the Greeneville City
Schools is able to provide two state and one lottery classrooms of 20 children each that are
low-income and meet the federal eligibility guidelines of Head Start. After
joining with Head Start we were able to offer four classrooms that serve a total
of 80 children. The Greeneville City Schools provides
certified teachers for the blended classrooms and Head Start
provides the assistants for the blended classrooms.
Together
this partnership provides the most beneficial classroom experience a young
child needs to start a successful school career.
If
you are interested in enrolling your child in our program or to see if
you meet eligibility requirements, please contact us at 423-638-1083 or
