The cafeteria staff at Hal Henard Elementary, along with their principal, Mr. Ken Fay were celebrated by system administrators on Friday, April 18. These hardworking and dedicated employees went “above and beyond” the call of duty recently on Read Across America Day, or more commonly known as “Dr. Seuss Day.” They dressed up as the three little pigs and Mr. Fay also dressed in costume and played the role of the Big Bad Wolf!
Additionally, the entire faculty and staff of the school were celebrated with fruit and yogurt cups. Hal Henard Elementary was recently commended by the Tennessee State Department of Education as their students scored in the “top 10% of all schools in Tennessee in both reading/language arts and mathematics for the school year 2006-2007.” The letter of commendation was read to the students and staff on the morning announcements and continued with, “This is a tremendous achievement. Congratulations on this wonderful achievement, and we wish you continued success in the future.” We also congratulate the faculty, staff, students, and parents of the Hal Henard Elementary community for this outstanding achievement!
